Forum > Obama's Inauguration Speech

What follows is an excerpt from Obama's speech, Jan. 20.

"To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it."

To which I can only add a hearty, "Amen!"

Mike sent me that paragraph... so I translated it (more or less) to the Team members that were here that night... Blanca, Milagro, Cecilia, Idalia...

I think I heard a resounding "AMEN" when I was done...
There is hope!!

In general, what is the opinion/mood/thinking of the general population in El Salvador on the recent US elections? I know they've been pretty wrapped up in their own elections, too.
